Llyn Gwynant Campsite
Nantgwynant, Gwynedd, LL55 4NW
About Us
Llyn Gwynant is the nature lovers' campsite in the very heart of Eryri / Snowdonia. The campsite lies below Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon in the most beautiful valley in Wales. It is an ideal base for walking, swimming and other adventure activities, and during summer kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards can be hired from the site. We also have food outlets, a small bar and a shop. You can walk up Snowdon directly from the site, or alternatively you can simply enjoy natural beauty and quiet beside the lake or river, relaxing by your own camp fire. No radios are allowed, and respect for the land and for others is essential.
Notes
Bookings are now required for all campers at the site, and also for day visitors. Campers book from the Bookings page under Campsite and day visitors from the Day visitor page on our website, www.gwynant.com.
Most of our campers come in tents and book an “unallocated pitch” which means they choose place in our big green fields and woodlands to pitch them, that suits them. More than one tent can be in an unallocated pitch but we do not allow groups of more than 15 people, adults plus children, to pitch together. We do require quiet after 11 pm. Prices are £12 - £15 per night for adults, and £6 - £8 for children up to 15 years old, infants under 5 are free.
We have only a few bays for large vans up to 8m long with EHU, which are near the lake. There are many bays along hedgerows on the camping fields for vans up to 5.5m with or without EHU. We also have a few pitches for tents with EHU, those for small medium tents at the front, and large tents at the back of the site.
The area in front of the lake is not for camping, but kept for all to enjoy. You can bring your own paddleboard or kayak, or hire one from the site in the summer season, or choose one of the many walks along river and lake or up to the mountains, all accessible from the site.
Our Cegin food outlet offers hot food and including pizzas from the site and an open air bar open from 5.30 to 9 pm. There is also a small shop selling basic items as well as fresh food and icecream.
